Step up
and Bring
the Fierce Love
Your Son Needs
“What is needed is a realization that power without love is reckless and abusive. And love without power is sentimental and anemic.”
MLK jr
You are in no danger of becoming an authoritarian dad —
dominating and controlling your son selfishly rather than guiding in service. Your son doesn’t need it and it isn’t who you are. But there is something lacking in being just a nice dad, a fun dad, a dad who doesn’t yell. Something feels limp and disengaged in this new “Enlightened” form of parenting.

A new kind of dad is needed —
One that recognizes that our boys need both masculine and feminine nourishment to thrive.

I help GOOD DADS become
Fiercely Loving Fathers
My life has been one of service. Whether welcoming babies into the world in my role as a pediatrician, shepherding my boys across turbulent times, or helping good dads like you become Fiercely Loving Fathers, I know I am meant to serve.
I have been a life and parent coach for 15 years. I will meet you where you are at. And I will stretch you into the next layer of your becoming. My craft has been honed in a variety of settings: my Integral Coaching program at New Ventures West in San Francisco, numerous somatic trainings and contemplative retreats, and as a long-time student of the Diamond Approach.
I have been in and led men’s groups for 20 years. In circle we explore masculinity from as many angles as possible — everything from meditation to boxing. We use every bit of Life as our path and Fathering is our new frontier.
I first articulated my vision for an integrated masculine and feminine parenting in the book Mindful Discipline: A Loving Approach to Setting Limits and Raising an Emotionally Intelligent Child (Whom I wrote with friend Shauna Shapiro PhD).
“One of the most exceptional road maps…”

“I love this book.
I wish it were packaged with every pregnancy test.”

Now I am ready to take parenting to the next level.
ITS TIME TO BRING THE HEALTHY MASCULINE
BACK INTO FATHERING
My gifts are my presence, my heart, and my clarity.
I delight in every individual story, and love witnessing and guiding men
though this rite of passage called “fatherhood.”
Together we grow from good dads
to FIERCELY LOVING FATHERS.
